US - Canada Tariff Customer FAQ

The latest U.S.-Canada tariffs may bring changes that affect the tire industry. We break down what this means for Fountain Tire customers and how we’re ensuring you have access to the products you need.

The ongoing trade developments between the U.S. and Canada have introduced new tariff measures that may impact customers on both sides of the border. With a 25% tariff on Canadian-made goods entering the U.S. and reciprocal tariffs applied by Canada on certain American imports, we understand that this evolving situation raises questions and concerns.

We recognize that this situation may bring uncertainty, and we want to assure you that we are fully committed to supporting our customers and we are deeply committed to being on this road together – with our customers, our associates and our manufacturing partners.

Do these tariffs impact the tire industry and Fountain Tire's product offerings?

Answer – yes these tariffs do impact the tires manufactured in the US and imported into Canada. This will have an impact on our product offering. However, not all products will be impacted by the tariffs. Fountain Tire has many available brands that are produced outside of the US.

Answer – Fountain Tire buys products from several different global manufacturers who manufacture products in multiple countries. For those products that are affected by tariffs, we will continue to explore the impact have as the situation evolves.

How will the tariffs affect product availability and lead times?

Answer – Since Fountain Tire has its own distribution centres and purchases products from several global manufacturers, we do not currently have product availability concerns. If there is specific product(s) that are of concern, please talk with your Fountain Tire representative.

Are all tires subject to tariffs, or are certain brands and models exempt?

Answer – not all our tires are subject to tariffs. If the product(s) are subject to tariffs, we can find alternatives for you. Please discuss this with your Fountain Tire representative.

Can I still purchase products at pre-tariff pricing?

Answer – there are products that have not been impacted by tariffs. Please discuss this with your Fountain Tire representative.

Will my existing orders be affected by the tariffs?

Answer – the earlier we know what products you require, the better we can secure your products to have what you need.

Are there alternative tire brands or products that are not subject to tariffs?

Answer – yes there are other products that are not subject to tariffs. Let’s determine if these products can serve your needs.
