This summer, the annual Hooked on Miracles fishing tournament once again brought together industry leaders, partners, and friends for three days of camaraderie, competition, and—most importantly—compassion.

We are thrilled to share that the 2025 event raised an outstanding $180,450 in support of the BC Children’s Hospital Centre for Health Complexity. This new facility will provide critical care for young people living with complex, chronic conditions, helping them and their families access the specialized support they need.

Making a Difference, One Cast at a Time

The Hooked on Miracles event is part of Mining for Miracles foundation; a BC mining community’s longstanding fundraising campaign in support of the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation. Since 1988, the foundation has raised over $40 million for BC Children’s Hospital, transforming pediatric care across the province. This year, with the support of the mining community, more than $2.2 million was raised toward the Centre for Health Complexity—bringing us one step closer to Mining for Miracles’ ambitious $6 million goal.

Celebrating Success and Camaraderie

From exciting auction bids to friendly competition on the water, this year’s tournament was full of energy and generosity. A special congratulations goes to Darb Dhillon, who reeled in the big win and took home the 2025 trophy!

Most of all, we celebrate every participant, donor, and supporter who made this year such a success. Your generosity ensures that young patients facing complex health challenges will have access to the care and resources they deserve.

Mark your calendars—next year’s Hooked on Miracles returns June 17–20, 2026, at the beautiful Middle Beach Lodge in Tofino. We look forward to welcoming familiar faces and new participants for another unforgettable weekend.
